I completed my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering in India. I came to realize that organization and planning enables anyone to achieve their desired outcome. This thought motivated me to gain a master’s degree in Business Administration. I worked as a Quality Analyst for a year and recognized that to keep up with emerging trends I needed to study information technology. I created a list of goals when I decided to pursue my master’s degree in the US. I started searching for the universities on the internet and found that FXUA is a place where I can gain knowledge and exposure to achieve my goals.

The most interesting thing about FXUA is its diversified culture that can be seen in every aspect of the campus. FXUA has students and professors from all over the world and provided a place where I received the chance to interact with people in a diversified working environment. These interactions enabled me to know how people from other countries think, their work style, and how they learn new techniques. Because of my experiences at FXUA, I see myself as a better person with positive attitude.

FXUA not only encourages its students in their academics but also in various extra-curricular activities which enables you to grow. By studying at FXUA and living in America my perception towards life has changed in a very positive way.

While at FXUA I have received the chance to work as Graduate Teaching Assistant and was awarded a campus employment scholarship.  I am an active member of the IT club at FXUA. I am also on the Dean’s list.

I recommend FXUA to students all over the world who are genuinely willing to have a career in Information Technology field because FXUA helps the students in each step that are required to reach their goals successfully.

I believe that it is essential for everyone to learn things practically rather sticking only to theories in textbooks. The professors at FXUA help students understand the importance of practical learning and encourage students to do things practically. The academic curriculum provides students with various specializations in their related fields.

Attitude and hard work will make you victorious in your pursuit of achieving and I strongly believe that I have gained knowledge, motivation, and exposure from my degree at FXUA.

Learning is a continuous process and I want to dedicate my understanding to explore new trends in the Information Technology and excel in this field by sharing my knowledge all over the world.

My friend who graduated from FXUA recommended the university to me. After I familiarized myself with the university through its website; I was interested in the MBA program in Global Logistics as it was related to my job at the time. I was a supply chain engineer in the Global Supply Chain and Logistics Department at General Motors Uzbekistan.

I earned my master’s degree in international economic relations in Tashkent, the capitol of Uzbekistan. After the graduation, I started working in the foreign trade system for the government. While participating in foreign trade operations, I became interested in international logistics. This interest took me to the Global Supply Chain and Logistics team of a multinational company, General Motors Uzbekistan. During my time working at GM Uzbekistan, I participated in many local and international projects for the company and attended training programs at the production plants in South Korea, India, China, Poland, Germany, and the U.S. I chose to pursue an MBA in Global Logistics at FXUA to strength my knowledge in international logistics business.

FXUA gave me the opportunity to get work experience on campus as a student staff member. I participated in a special project and was accepted into the marketing department as an international marketing assistant. I would like to express my appreciation to Dr. Bahceci and Ms. Serrano for this opportunity. I would also like the staff and team of FXUA; they are all friendly and kind people. There are a lot of student clubs at FXUA and I serve as the president of the Navruz Club; which represents the culture of Central Asian people. This year we organized a special Navruz holiday at FXUA.

Our distinguished professors always help students anytime they need assistance, and most have experience from government to multinational companies. They encourage students, not just to listen during the class, but to act in parallel with the professor; resulting in engaging debates and discussions during classes. Our professors motivate us to pursue our professional goals and career achievements.

There are many reasons why students should choose FXUA. First, is the location of the campus. It is located in the DC metro area and it offers the chance to experience life at the United States’ capitol. FXUA offers a truly diverse and international experience; with a large number of students representing different cultures and countries. Students are able to easily adapt to local life while surrounded by diverse faculty and staff; and have the opportunity to make friends from different parts of the world.

Secondly, is the affordable high-quality education. FXUA has current, high demanding academic programs for undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and ESL courses for English learners. These programs are offered with affordable fees and flexible payment plans. FXUA offers several scholarships for students which are awarded on a variety of merits: academic excellence, career growth, special achievements, and many others. Recently, they launched a regional scholarship for prospective students which cover partial to full tuition fees.

After graduation, I will return to my previous job in the Global Supply Chain and Logistics team at General Motors Uzbekistan. I believe my degree from FXUA helps me to further career. It will assist me to better understand the American business system and global business standards in my job which is part of a multinational American company.

I made a lot of friends at FXUA from many countries, and I believe they will be great contacts in my professional and personal life. Today, the economy of Uzbekistan is increasing dramatically and integrating into world trade. We still face many problems with global logistics; as the country is landlocked and does not have access to maritime. But, due to my degree from FXUA, I will be able to work on improving logistic systems in Uzbekistan.

Today, the keys to our success and a dynamic future lie within the world of technology, and we are getting to the point where the impact of this technology will go beyond science and technology-related areas.

I pursued a bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Mumbai, an institute that specializes in the subject. After successfully completing my undergraduate studies, I joined the software giant Infosys as systems engineer, but I was eager to pursue a master’s degree. I started my Master of Engineering in Computer Science at Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s College of Engineering and Technology, affiliated with the University of Mumbai.  In spite of all this academic and professional experience, I realized that I had only gained an overview of all subjects related to computer science. Hence, to develop more in-depth knowledge, I needed a master’s degree in computer science with a networking specialization.

My search for a good school stopped after I had one look at the curriculum at Fairfax University of America’s School of Computer Information Systems. I wanted to avail of a world class education through the exposure to related disciplines throughout the university and across disciplinary boundaries. Here I am now pursuing a master’s degree in computer science in the School of Computer Information Systems where innovative thinking, idea generation, and independent research are encouraged. The lectures, seminars, and independent studies all test and refine my skills. The university and its distinguished faculty are serving as a guiding force for my hard work and efforts. Additionally, foreign education here gives me an open platform to showcase my skills and talents, and the ensuing exposure to the USA puts me on the path of self-discovery.

I am also working as a graduate teaching assistant in the School of Computer Information Systems and I have been awarded with the most prestigious scholarship that is the Presidents Scholarship at FXUA. It is not just the technology that changes; the professional behind it also needs to adapt and adopt innovative technologies to be an able contributor to the field. My desire has always been to strive for excellence, which would provide me the necessary guidance and opportunities to have an edge over others.

I am fortunate enough to have earned my Certificate in Project Management and a life-changing educational experience at Fairfax University of America, thanks to its high quality education and affordable rate.  I am greatly blessed for my time at this university.

FXUA gives endless opportunities to meet and work with so many young and brilliant students from all over the world.  Both the FXUA students and alumni’s personalities and cultural heritage have deeply impacted me.  Together, we have engaged in school and community events that have made us all grow.  Today, I am a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and I am looking forward to becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP) in the near future, because of the help from FXUA and its family.

Prior to studying at FXUA, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Geography, and a Master’s in Disaster Risk Management.  From administrative manager to account manager, from teacher to event manager, I had already experienced so much in various fields.  My family members, in addition to my peers, professors, and colleagues, have played an important role in my educational success and these past experiences.  But because of FXUA, I have seen the world differently, as it has given me a unique perspective toward my lifetime goals.

Being in one of the most in-demand certificate programs with world-class professors in the United States is absolutely my biggest accomplishment so far.  Now, I am ready to explore the next chapter in my life.  Thank you, FXUA, for celebrating with me throughout my education!

Happiness is a decision you make every day, and thus happiness becomes a way of life.  Decide to be happy today and always.

I heard about FXUA through the Virginia Unemployment Office under the Workforce Investment Area (WIA) program. The WIA is a program that assists unemployed personnel with a certain amount of funds toward a skill through a listed school. Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Learning that aims to help in gaining a better job.

I chose FXUA because the university is located near my home in Fairfax, VA, as well as a convenient distance from my job in Ashburn, VA. The class sizes at FXUA are small enough to let students receive one-on-one interaction with instructors and the diverse environment generates a variety of different cultures and viewpoints about any given subject. This type of environment also encourages students to interact with each other by working on projects together, instead of on our own.

What I like best about FXUA is convenience – I do not have a long drive from work or home. Also, FXUA enables qualified to students participate in their Internship program which is a wonderful opportunity to get on-the-job experience for their resume.

The FXUA faculty is very understanding, they try to fit their classes with my busy schedule. They did not treat me any different from the full-time students. I can change my status as a full-time student if my classes are available during the daytime. So, I would say to other American students looking at FXUA: what is an Adventure Outside-of-the-Box? There are opportunities at FXUA that are not the same in the larger universities and FXUA delivers an education that is just as good, but in my opinion better.

I have gained a lot of insight from my classmates, most of which have been students at FXUA for a year or more. My peers have encouraged me, and I know that I have made the right chose by selecting FXUA.

After I earn my Certificate of Small Business Administration, I would like to join a company that requires assistance with their small business, or even to start a small business myself!

Quote: “FXUA has impacted my personal and professional life in a positive way and helped me identify and develop my skills and expertise.”

My name is Anastasia and I am originally from Moscow, Russia. I completed my undergraduate degree in Economics in Moscow and I decided to pursue my graduate studies abroad. I started my investigation into a Master’s program offered in the USA and visited several times. It helped me decide that the US would be the right place to pursue my Master’s degree.

Once I visited Virginia, I absolutely loved the cultural diversity and strategic location, I decided to concentrate my university research in the DC/MA/VA area only. Taking into account that Virginia is one of the wealthiest and expensive areas in the country, I challenged myself to find a good university where can I afford the tuition.  Among the universities I was considering applying to was Fairfax University of America. Not just because of its affordability, but because of the simplicity of an application procedure. Now I am honored to say, that I graduated with MBA degree in International Business Management from FXUA.

While at FXUA, I learned valuable on-hands experience through events organized by a FXUA Career Center. I remember one of the speakers mentioned that networking is a key factor no matter what professional path you choose. Perhaps everybody knows about the importance of networking but it was an absolutely new aspect for me at that time. She suggested me to sign up for Toastmasters International (TI). For those who don`t know, Toastmasters is designed to help members improve their communication, public speaking, leadership skills, and it operates worldwide. The organization gives you a chance to develop your skills and to build your network. The sign-up process is easy, just look for clubs in the DMV area that you are interested in and contact their representatives. Attend a session and then if you like the club, enroll. You don’t need to do anything besides attending the event. At that time, I enrolled for the IMF and the World Bank chapters because that is what interested me; it helped me meet the right people and to get information about the interview process before going to real interviews. It takes time to build relationships and to collect information for different opportunities but it is worthwhile. This is just one of the tips I learned by going to the Career Center events and it still serves me- even though I graduated, I am still meeting new people and making new connections.

I found my job after a graduation through a recruiter who later secured me a job. I worked for a high-profile private equity firm, based in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, my 1-year OPT had finished and my employer couldn’t sponsor my work visa due to the long process. In the end, because of my work ethic, they referred me to their Dubai partners and I received a job there. Basically what let me to this opportunity was a good profile (CV), hard work, good recommendations, and connections.

This year is my 3rd year working in Dubai; it is a great city to live and work. I love my job and currently, I work in the Investment in Aviation industry, at the International AirFinance Corporation (IAFC). As a Senior Manager, I am responsible for investor relations, marketing & PR; I report directly to the CEO and I am in charge of keeping communications with internal and external stakeholders at a high-level standard. In addition, I organize marketing presentations and investment roadshows internationally and in collaboration with the executive team while supervising the marketing communications strategies and establishing and developing media relationships.

FXUA has impacted my personal and professional life in a positive way and has helped me identify and develop my skills and expertise.

Studying in the US gives you a chance for better job opportunities abroad. What I liked about FXUA is it provides you with quality education, good facilities, and location to DC; it provides opportunities for students to live, study, and internships and/or jobs in the DC area; many international organizations and IT companies are located in the city and surrounding areas. FXUA is a good investment for pursuing your degree.

Fairfax University of America has opened the door to diversity. As an MBA student, it is critical to interact with people from many different backgrounds (races, religions, etc.) because this enables you to view and analyze problems from several different perspectives, an ability that enriches your business skills. By hosting students from more than 50 nations on its campus, FXUA has enabled me to collaborate with brilliant students, which has broadened my problem-solving skills and given me an edge in the competitive workforce.
