Making an Appointment
To make an appointment , please submit the Request a Consultation Form. One of our coaches will reach out to you to confirm your session. It is recommended that you provide both a day and two times that would work best for you and a phone number where you can be reached. Coaches will try their best to work around your schedule, but they may suggest other times if the schedule requires it.
Students are strongly encouraged to make appointments for coaching sessions before the actual due date of the assignment.
What to Expect from a Coaching Session
Coaching sessions are designed to provide students with support for their written language and are limited to thirty minutes. The actual coaching sessions vary from session to session based upon need and the assignment. Coaches do not edit or revise your work for you; rather, Coaches will help identify areas to address in your paper and tips for your future writing.
You may email your assignment to a Coach before you come for your session, but the coach will not make any recommendations or changes before the actual coaching session.
Cancellations of Appointments
The WRMC understands that things sometimes come up and you may need to cancel your appointment. We do ask that you respect your appointment times. The WRMC Coaches request that you email us at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you need to miss your scheduled appointment.
No Shows for Appointments
Students who no show for appointments risk disrupting the WRMC schedule and may cause another student to not receive a coaching session in peak times of the year. Students who do not show for their appointments will not be permitted to reschedule their appointment within the same week.
In the event that you need to be late to your coaching session, we request that you email ahead of time to let us know. Students who show for their appointment more than ten minutes late without emailing will be considered “no shows” for their appointments.
For online students, the WRMC offers coaching sessions via Google Hangout. When scheduling your appointment, please include in your request that you wish to do a virtual coaching session. Coaches will work to accommodate your virtual needs. It is recommended that you have access to a headset and a web cam for these sessions.
NOTE : All FXUA students have access to Google Hangout through their FXUA email address. If you need help with setting up your account, it would be wise to let your coach know when scheduling your appointment.
