Dr. Chala holds a PhD in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic and State University and an MS in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. He is currently leading the school of Business as a Program Chair. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing the teaching-learning process, developing curriculum, recruiting, and evaluating faculty, registering students, and advising their success during their studies. As a program Chair, he has developed a new Bachelor and Master’s degree programs in business administration and Management Information System (BSMIS).
He has 20+ years of expertise in economic policy research, project management, and business plan development. He has a published book and articles related to his research works in development and environmental economics.
Since 2016, he held the position of Assistant Professor in the School of Business at FXUA, teaching BA and MBA courses in business statistics, international trade and finance, operations management, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and introductory statistics.
He has many years of experience in teaching online courses using Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas and D2L Learning Management System & technologies.
