Fairfax University of America (FXUA) has career-oriented programs aimed at helping eventual graduates to have skills that employers are looking for. As such, our curriculum development process seeks feedback from actual or potential employers in order to tailor our curriculum around the needs of the field. FXUA measures its success in part on the success of its graduates after program completion. As such, we monitor our students from the time that they complete their program until they are employed.
CAREER COACHING
In addition to group trainings/workshops and information sessions, FXUA employs a career coaching model whereby we work with students/graduates to design individualized plans to help them be successful in their job search. Our goal is to provide a personalized experience to assist students to be successful in their job search.
CAREER CENTER DOCUMENTATION
Please submit completed employment documents from the list below to career@fxua.edu for processing:
- Employment Notification Form
The graduate must submit this form within 10 days of receiving an employment offer. If you are already working in-field (i.e., in a field related to your degree), please complete this form. Otherwise, you will complete this form once you receive an employment offer. Once completed, please scan and email this from to career@fxua.edu, along with a copy of some form of proof of your new employment (examples: employment offer letter, signed job description, etc.). Please apply the following to complete the form.- Skill List – The graduate will need to identify four (4) position skills which are related to the earned degree
- Proof of employment (including but not limited to at least one of the following):
- Employment Offer Letter or Email – The graduate will need to request this document from his or her supervisor or HR Department.
- Signed Job Description -Submit a cop of a completed (signed) job description.
- If the graduate was hired before their graduation date, the graduate will also need to submit the Placement Attestation Form.

Submit this form and supporting documents to career@fxua.edu if you are not able to work for one of the reasons listed below. PLACEMENT STATUSES
Upon obtaining employment, a FXUA graduate or completer of a program will be placed either by job title, skills, or benefit of their training. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the ACICS Definition of Placement. To receive more information on the formula for placement calculation, please visit www.acics.org.
It is important to note that FXUA graduates must inform the Career Center of their employment status after graduation. This is important for FXUA’s accreditation and for understanding how success FXUA’s programs are in helping graduates to find gainful employment.
International students are required to complete a supplemental form for the Career Center. We work closely with the International Student Services office, but these are independent offices. Meeting with the Career Center does not mean that you have met requirements related to your international student status. Please always consult the Designated School Official (DSO) in the International Student Services office if you have questions about your status, requirements while on OPT, requirements to be eligible to work in the United States, etc.
F-1 international students only: According to US immigration regulations, all international students are required to report employment while on OPT. International students only, please access the link to submit employment documents: https://www.fxua.edu/student-life/iss-office/iss-forms/. You may be required to provide this information to BOTH the Career Center and the International Student Services Office (ISS).
