Andy Yao, PhD

Adjunct Faculty, School of Computer Information Systems

Dr. Yao holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. He has experience in higher education since 1985 and has taught a wide variety of computer science courses. His professional experience in the private sectors started in 1983 and involves all phases of system development cycle, including project management, requirement analysis, system design, programming, testing, system administration, benchmark, database design and administration, performance tuning, system installation, system conversion, configuration management, and network system management. He has intensive experience and thorough knowledge in areas including operating system, computer networking, client/server computing, distributed system, database systems, configuration management, software testing, artificial intelligence, object oriented technology, web technologies, programming languages, and cyber security. Dr. Yao’s research interests include Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Software Development, Computer Networks, and Database Management Systems. He has written books covering the following subjects: UNIX, Object-Oriented Programming in C++, Oracle Programming, Java Programming, Java Servlets, JavaScript, and Visual Basic Programming.
