Fairfax University of America to Host Panel Discussion on International Trade Issues

On Friday, October 20, 2017, Fairfax University of America (FXUA) is hosting an international trade panel during the 2nd annual International Business Conference. Panelists will feature international trade experts including Hampton Dowling, Ed Laughlin, Kathleen Pion, and George Harben.

Mr. Dowling was recently appointed by the VA State Legislature to join the newly formed Commission on International Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  This commission will advise the Board of Directors for the VA Economic Development Panel (VEDP).  Mr. Dowling will report to the Governor on matters of international trade.

Also on the panel is Mr. Ed Laughlin and Ms. Kathleen Pion.  Mr. Laughlin serves as Defense Program Manager in VEDP’s Global Defense Program.  He provides export counseling to help clients create profitable growth in foreign markets.  Ms. Pion is Operations Manager for ZESTRON Americas, the global leading provider of high precision cleaning products, services and training solutions for the electronics manufacturing industry and semiconductor industries.

The panel will be led by Mr. George Harben, CEcD, CCR who is the Director of Existing Business Services for Prince William County Department of Economic Development and works with local businesses on retention and expansion issues.
