Additionally, the days between Christmas and New Year’s Day are considered winter break holidays. Some student-service and essential departments are required to have an employee working on campus during the winter break holiday period. These departments include the following:
- Admissions
- International Student Services
- Registrar
- Inquiries
- Student Affairs

- Academic Schools
Employees asked to work on a scheduled holiday will receive a floating holiday to use at a later date.* An employee who is not asked to work on a scheduled holiday may request to work, but this must be approved by the employee’s supervisor and the Human Resources department.
When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be observed. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be observed.
* Please note that “Floating Holidays” are only given for employees who are required to work on a previously scheduled holiday.
